al-buh-kur-kee

Well, we made it to Albuquerque, New Mexico-the land of enchantment. This is a bit of a late post but we have been unpacking the past two weeks. The drive was fun, as long as fun is defined as expensive. We all know gas prices are going up but it is even more apparent when driving a moving truck. For example: Moscow to Horseshoe Bend, Horseshoe Bend to Burley, to Bountiful, to Moab, to Shiprock, and finally to Albuquerque for a grand total of 1,365 miles @ 14 mpg. Each time we filled up the pump cut us off. Apparently they didn't want my money. Beth had to stop about every two hours to walk around and regain circulation but we made it safely. I have started a job at Consensus Planning and enjoy the firm very much. Albuquerque has an interesting character and many things to do. We have gone on several drives around the city to discover new things and we already have a list for this summer that should be really fun. I posted a few pictures of parts of the town that are interesting as well as some from our trip. Enjoy the pictures and know that we miss all of you but are also excited to experience living somewhere new. Oh, just so everyone knows, the school (UNM) is amazing. The building pictures are of my future studio in the college of Architecture and Planning. Inside the restrooms are Lobo red with waterless urinals and stainless trough sinks. The entire building is open in the center with views to every studio floor. The 4th floor is a library dedicated to the fine arts and architecture with wonderful views of the Sandia Mountains to the East. The building is also located within walking distance to Panda Express (could be a problem when school starts).
