Friday the 19th was National Parking Day. The Trust For Public Land set the date as a day to turn a parking space into a public park in order to promote more green space in our cities. I was able to organize a team of Landscape Architect students to design, build, and use 4 parking spaces across from campus on the busiest street in Albuquerque (Central/Route 66). The day was filled with music, food, games, and meeting plenty of strangers. It was a really fun event and there are more pictures of cities across america and their parking parks from last Friday at http://www.flickr.com/groups/2008parkingday/pool/page5/
