The Spirals

Hooray! With the donated materials from Park(ing) Day we were able to almost finish our tiny back yard space. I've had this design planned since the week after we moved in but we couldn't afford the materials. Now we can let Bailey outside without her getting completely filthy and covered in mud. Here are some progress pictures to show you before and after.

This is what it looked like when we moved in...

After weeding and orienting the pavers but not setting them yet...

Synthetic turf, pavers, and rock mulch set in place along with planted Yuccas...

Timeline looking down from cmu wall...

I still have to work on the ugly block wall. Something temporary like chalk. I also planted a vine in the opposite corner from these pictures but have more plans for that area and will show off later. I don't think I'll know what to once it is finished so I bettr pace myself and calm down a little.

Thanks for the comment on our blog, Beth - you beat me to the punch! It was great to look through yours. I'm way impressed with your back yard - it looks MUCH better, and I especially like the pavers. That's cool that Chance did a "Parking Day." I've never heard of it, but it's an awesome idea. And I'm glad you guys had fun in Texas...it is my dream to go to San Antonio and do the riverwalk someday. ....So...was it Chance or Beth that got pulled over? You both post on the blog - but am I guessing right that it was Chance? :) No fun. And Bailey turned 1 yr old - how exciting! You made some cute safari cupcakes, Beth! I'm glad you had fun with all your visitors this summer! We love the Summerfests and missed it this year - I'm so happy you guys are experiencing a lot of what New Mexico has to offer! As I looked at the pictures of you all at the ABQ Temple, I remembered seeing you there that night. I can't believe it's already been 2 mo. since then - it feels like just a couple weeks ago! We hope to see you again soon. Love ya!
